Honestly, when I first walked into this apartment on rue Latourg-Maubourg, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s basically right in the thick of Cannes’ city center, so I figured it’d be cramped and touristy. But you know what? It actually surprised me. The place feels more spacious than you’d expect for a two-bedroom in this part of town, and that terrace – well, it’s not huge, but it catches just enough of the sea view to make your morning coffee feel special. You can glimpse the Mediterranean between the buildings if you position yourself right, which is honestly more than I expected for the price point.

The location is what really sold me on this place, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (where all the Cannes Film Festival action happens), and rue d’Antibes – the main shopping drag – is right around the corner. I actually loved being able to duck into Monoprix for groceries without having to trek across town, and there’s this little boulangerie just down the street that does incredible pain au chocolat. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but clean and functional. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to cook (which I’d recommend, since restaurant prices in this area can be brutal during festival season). One thing to note: it can get a bit noisy at night, especially on weekends. You’re in the heart of Cannes, so there’s definitely street noise and the occasional late-night reveler, but honestly, that’s part of the charm of staying right in the center rather than out in some sterile hotel complex.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile – there were actual books on the shelves, decent lighting for reading, and the terrace furniture was comfortable enough that I ended up spending most evenings out there with a glass of wine. The building itself is typically French, which means narrow stairs and no elevator, but it’s only a few flights up. Check-in was smooth, and the host actually gave me some solid recommendations for restaurants away from the touristy waterfront area. Look, this isn’t going to be the most luxurious stay of your life – it’s a solid 3-star experience, nothing more, nothing less. But if you want to be in the absolute center of Cannes without paying resort prices, and you don’t mind a bit of urban energy, this place delivers. Just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, and maybe bring a small fan for summer nights when that sea breeze doesn’t quite make it to the terrace.

  Ideale ligging om de hoek van de boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes en het strand. Restaurants dichtbij. Groot appartement, ruime keuken en leuke zithoek. Gezellig balkon met zijzeezicht, op 3e etage, en zicht op Martinez hotel. Twee liften in de centrale hal. Appartement goed beveiligd bij entree. Prettige ontvangst bij aankomst met uitleg en sleutel overdracht.
  
  What could be improved: Parkeren nabij het appartement is erg moeilijk. Straat is eenrichtingsverkeer. De harde muziek in de bar/club op de begane grond is op 3e etage avonds/nacht erg goed hoorbaar, ook met raam/rolluik dicht. Kwaliteit van de matras in de beide slaapkamers is erg matig; een topper is echt nodig voor goed comfort. Meer badhanddoeken is nodig en/of vooraf duidelijker communiceren. Schoonmaak in de badkamer kon wel beter.
