IMMOGROOM – 5min from the Festival Palace – AC – Wifi – Center
Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – IMMOGROOM isn’t going to win any design awards, but honestly? It’s one of those spots that just works, especially if you’re in Cannes for the film festival or just want to be in the thick of things without breaking the bank. The name’s a bit odd (still not sure what “IMMOGROOM” means), but don’t let that throw you off.
The location is actually pretty brilliant. Boulevard Carnot might not sound glamorous, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals – I mean, you can practically see the red carpet from here during festival season. What I really appreciated was how you’re right in the Carnot neighborhood, which feels more like actual Cannes rather than the tourist bubble down by the Croisette. There’s this little boulangerie around the corner that locals hit up for morning coffee, and you’ll find yourself walking past the same French grandmothers walking their tiny dogs every day. The AC works well too, which – trust me – you’ll need during those sweltering July afternoons when the Mediterranean heat just sits on the city like a blanket.
Here’s what surprised me: for a 3-star place, they’ve got the basics really dialed in. The WiFi is solid (I was working remotely part of my stay), and the rooms are clean in that efficient European way – not huge, but everything has its place. You know what I mean? The kind of setup where you’re not tripping over your suitcase every time you want to get to the bathroom. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare in this part of Cannes, but there are a few public lots within walking distance, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car much anyway. The train station is maybe a 10-minute walk, so day trips to Nice or Monaco are totally doable. I will say the street can get a bit lively at night – not rowdy, just… alive, you know? French conversations drifting up from the sidewalk cafés, the occasional scooter buzzing by. If you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs, but personally, I found it kind of charming. It felt like staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
