When I first walked up to the building on Madrid street, I almost second-guessed myself because it looks pretty unassuming from the outside. But here’s the thing about this part of Cannes – you’re literally a five-minute stroll from all the Croisette madness, yet you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling back from the casino at 3 AM.

The apartment itself is compact – I mean, they say 2 couchages for a reason – but it’s got this lived-in comfort that you just don’t get in those sterile hotel chains. The kitchen actually has proper coffee cups (not those tiny hotel ones that barely hold an espresso), and there’s enough counter space to spread out your morning croissants from the boulangerie down the street. What really got me was the attention to small stuff… like, the shower has decent water pressure, which anyone who’s stayed in older French buildings will tell you is basically a miracle. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the space too, though I spent most of my time on the little balcony anyway.

You know what’s genius about this location? Everyone talks about staying right on the Croisette, but they don’t mention that you’ll pay double and deal with constant noise. From here, you can walk to the Palais des Festivals in about ten minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that – but when you want to grab groceries or find a café where locals actually go, you’re already in the right neighborhood. There’s this little tabac on the corner where the owner started recognizing me after day two, and honestly, that’s when you know you’ve found the right spot. The beach access is super easy too; you can hit the public sections or splurge on one of the private beach clubs if you’re feeling fancy. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during festival season – well, parking anywhere in Cannes is a puzzle then – but the rest of the year it’s totally manageable. I’d definitely book this place again, especially if you’re the type who wants to experience Cannes like you actually live there for a week, not just pass through taking selfies.
