3-Room Apartment in the Heart of Cannes
You know what struck me first about this place? Walking up rue Molière, you’re literally in the thick of everything Cannes has to offer, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy-crazy like some of the beachfront spots. I mean, you’re maybe a four-minute walk to the Palais des Festivals – I timed it because I’m weird like that – but the street itself has this nice residential vibe with actual French people doing their grocery shopping at the little market around the corner.
The apartment itself is honestly bigger than I expected from the photos. Three proper rooms, and when they say “heart of Cannes,” they’re not kidding around. From one of the windows, you can actually see a sliver of the Mediterranean if you crane your neck just right (okay, maybe you have to lean out a bit, but it’s there). The setup works really well if you’re traveling with friends or family – there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over each other’s stuff, which… let’s be real, that matters after a few days. The kitchen’s fully equipped too, which came in handy because eating out every single meal in Cannes will absolutely destroy your budget. I picked up some fresh bread and cheese from the fromagerie down the street and had breakfast on the little balcony most mornings.
What I really appreciated was how the owner clearly knows the area – they left this hand-written note with all these local recommendations that you’d never find in a guidebook. Like this tiny wine bar called Le Comptoir that’s tucked away on a side street, or the fact that if you walk to the beach via rue d’Antibes instead of the main drag, you’ll dodge most of the cruise ship crowds. The check-in was smooth too, no awkward key-passing-in-a-parking-lot situation. Honestly, the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a rental. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury resort perfect, but it’s got character and everything works. The shower pressure is actually decent (you never know with older French buildings), and the AC kept up with the heat during those brutal July afternoons. If you’re the type who wants to experience Cannes like you live there instead of just passing through, this spot gets it right.
