Look, I’ll be honest – when I first spotted LE BAIN DE SOLEIL tucked away on Impasse Bergerie, I almost walked right past it. The entrance is sort of understated in that effortlessly French way, but once you’re inside this two-bedroom apartment, you immediately get why it’s pulling a 9.3 rating.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Cannes at all. You’re literally in the city center – I mean, you can walk to the Palais des Festivals in maybe eight minutes – but because you’re on this quiet little impasse (which is basically a dead-end street), you don’t get the insane noise from the main boulevards. The apartment itself feels properly luxurious without being stuffy about it. The two bedrooms are genuinely spacious, not those cramped European hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture every time you turn around. And you know what I loved? The kitchen is actually functional. I’ve stayed in so many “luxury” places where they give you this joke of a kitchenette, but here you could honestly cook a real meal if you wanted to.

What really sets this place apart though is how it manages to feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting. The morning light coming through those windows – there’s something about Mediterranean light that’s different, you know? And practically speaking, you’re a three-minute walk from Rue d’Antibes for shopping, but you can also slip down to the old port area without dealing with the tourist madness on La Croisette. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel but everything inside has been updated smartly. The Wi-Fi actually works (not always a given in France, honestly), and the shower pressure is fantastic – small things that matter when you’re trying to get ready for dinner.

I stayed here during shoulder season in October, so I can’t speak to what it’s like during the film festival chaos, but the neighborhood has this lovely lived-in quality where you’ll see actual Cannois doing their daily shopping, not just cruise ship tourists. The only minor thing – and this is really nitpicking for a 3-star place – is that parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving. The nearest public garage is about a five-minute walk, which isn’t terrible but something to factor in if you’ve got heavy luggage. Still, for what you’re getting – genuine luxury in the heart of Cannes, proper space to spread out, and that unbeatable location that puts you close to everything without the street noise – it’s honestly one of the better finds I’ve had on the Côte d’Azur.
