Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Cannes over the years, and this apartment on boulevard de la Source honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you first walk in, the light is just incredible. I mean, you’ve got these massive windows facing the Mediterranean, and the way the morning sun bounces off the water and fills the whole space… it’s the kind of thing you end up photographing way too much because your friends back home won’t believe it otherwise.

The location is actually perfect if you know Cannes at all. You’re on the Croisette side but tucked away from the main boulevard chaos – which means you can walk to all the good beach clubs (Hello Baoli, goodbye wallet) in about three minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant traffic noise and tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The pool area became my morning coffee spot because, well, you can see straight out to the Îles de Lérins on clear days, and there’s something weirdly meditative about watching the early ferry chugs out to Sainte-Marguerite while you’re still in your pajamas.

What I really appreciated – and this might sound boring but trust me on this – is that everything actually works properly. The AC doesn’t sound like a dying helicopter, the shower pressure is fantastic (crucial after sandy beach days), and whoever designed the kitchen knew what they were doing. I ended up cooking more than I planned because the local market on Rue Meynadier has these incredible ingredients, and the kitchen setup makes you want to use it. The three rooms give you space to spread out too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re traveling with people for a week. During the film festival madness in May, this place would be absolute gold – you’re close enough to walk to the Palais des Festivals but far enough away that you can actually sleep. Parking can be tricky in this area (honestly, it’s Cannes – parking is always tricky), but the building has a spot, which saves you from circling around like a vulture every evening. I’d definitely come back, probably in September when the crowds thin out and you can actually enjoy the beaches without feeling like you’re at a sardine convention.
