So I stumbled across this Interhome apartment in Cannes last spring, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you. Villa Francia-2 isn’t trying to be flashy – it’s just this solid 3-star setup that actually delivers on what it promises, which is refreshing in a city where half the places oversell themselves.

The location really clicked for me once I figured out the neighborhood rhythm. You’re tucked away from the main Croisette chaos (thank god, because that gets exhausting), but you can still walk to the port in maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind a little uphill on the way back. The morning market on Rue Forville is practically around the corner – I mean, you’ll smell the fresh bread and hear the vendors setting up if you’re an early riser. There’s this little café nearby where the locals actually go for coffee, not the tourist traps closer to the beach. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, you know? The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually use, and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which… well, anyone who’s stayed in older French buildings knows that’s not always a given. I loved having the balcony for morning coffee – nothing fancy, but you get glimpses of daily Cannes life, people heading to work, kids walking to school.

What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night. During the film festival madness (which I thankfully missed), I imagine it’s different, but in regular season, you actually sleep well here. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, the WiFi can be spotty sometimes, and the check-in process with Interhome requires a bit of patience. But for the price point in Cannes? You’re getting genuine value. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you want to experience the city like you’re staying in someone’s actual home rather than just passing through another hotel room. Plus, having a proper kitchen means you can grab those amazing tomatoes and cheese from the market and actually enjoy them properly – honestly, some of my best meals that trip happened right at that little dining table.

  The territory is very large with lots of apartments in separate buildings. This particular Villa is a little bit further from the main building and the swimming pool. So you have more silence. The view from the Infinity swimming pool is amazing. Swimming pool is for free, but you must pay extra for sunbeds (5 Eur/half a day or 10 Eur/day) for each sunbed if you want to use it. So sunbeds are charged and I didn't find this information before booking. There were all kitchen equipment and cleaning kit.
  
  What could be improved: The Villa is old building, so be prepared for the "old smell". There were no welcome kit for bathroom (shampoo, soap…).

  The Interhome lady didn't gave as information that we should bring back the swimming pool bracelets. When we check out (alive) we gave back the keys and the papers (instructions and rules for Villa usage), and she didn't even mention anything about bracelets. So we needed to turn back from the way to air port to bring back the bracelets after her call. Otherwise they wanted to charge us 25 Eur per unit (100Eur per family). Luckily we managed to bring back the bracelets and do not miss the flight. But it was very unpleasant experience.

  What could be improved: In the descriptions, it was told that there are two bathrooms in the apartment, one for each room. This was correct, but there was only one WC. When I read two rooms and two bathrooms, I would expect one WC for each room, which was not the case.

  Prachtig uitziet. Ruim appartement. Parkeer ruimte voor de deur. Alleen de wifi was niet zo sterk.

  Wir sind immer wieder von der tollen Lage und der genialen Aussicht dieser Wohnung begeistert.
  Diesmal war auch der Gesamteindruck – nach Generalsanierung – top. Wir haben uns wie immer
  wohlgefühlt und haben den Aufenthalt genossen.
  Den angeschlossenen Supermarkt in er Anlage nutzen wir kaum, da wir es genießen den morgentlichen
  Einkauf in Cannes am Markt zu tätigen und gleichzeitig einen Espresso und einen Croissant zu genießen.
  Wir werden wiederkommen.
  
  What could be improved: Eingangstüre zum Haus, Schließmechanismus müsste überarbeitet werden.
  Schlüsselabgabe bei Abreise müsste überdacht werden, man verliert Zeit,
  da man quer durch Cannes fahren muss.
