Best Western Premier Le Patio des Artistes Wellness Jacuzzi
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Cannes over the years, and honestly? This Best Western Premier on rue de Bone surprised me. You know how sometimes you book a place and you’re just hoping it doesn’t disappoint – well, this one actually exceeded expectations. The “Wellness Jacuzzi” part of the name made me roll my eyes initially (seemed a bit much), but turns out they weren’t kidding around. The spa area is genuinely nice, not just some afterthought hot tub squeezed into a basement corner.
What really sold me on this place is the location – and I mean the real location, not just “city center” nonsense. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals, which is clutch if you’re here during any of the film festival craziness or conferences. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: rue de Bone is just far enough from the main Croisette madness that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, you’re still hearing some street noise because, well, it’s Cannes – but it’s not the constant honking and late-night party sounds you get right on the waterfront. The area has this nice mix of locals and tourists, so there are actual cafés and shops that aren’t completely overpriced tourist traps. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals hit up in the mornings – you’ll see the line of French people getting their daily bread around 8 AM.
The hotel itself feels more boutique than typical Best Western – they’ve clearly put some thought into the design without going overboard with the “artistes” theme (thank god, because that could’ve gone very wrong). Rooms are solid, nothing groundbreaking but well-maintained and comfortable. The jacuzzi situation is legit, though it gets busy during peak season so timing matters. I found early morning or late evening worked best. Staff actually knows the area well, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many hotel employees can’t give you decent restaurant recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots. These folks pointed me toward a fantastic little wine bar that I never would’ve found otherwise. The 8.8 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, parking can be a pain during festival season and the elevator is tiny, but overall it hits that sweet spot of location, comfort, and not breaking the bank for Cannes standards.
Early hotels booking in Cannes is essential during major events like the Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned glamorous atmosphere and luxury shopping.
