Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to “BonJour” on Rue Hélène Vagliano, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in Cannes. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that catch you off guard. This little spot sits tucked away in the city center, and I mean properly tucked away – you’re literally a five-minute stroll from all the Croisette madness, but somehow it feels like you’ve found this quiet pocket that the cruise ship crowds haven’t discovered yet.

The thing about this street is that it’s residential enough to actually get some sleep (trust me, that’s gold during festival season), but you’re still close enough to duck into those tiny bistros on Rue Meynadier when you want proper French food without the tourist markup. The hotel itself has that slightly worn-around-the-edges charm that French places do so well – nothing fancy, but everything works and there’s character in the details. The front desk staff actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but honestly, half the places I’ve stayed just hand you a generic map and wish you luck. These folks will tell you which boulangerie opens earliest (it’s the one two blocks down, by the way) and where to grab groceries without paying resort prices.

What really sold me was the morning routine – I’d grab coffee from the lobby (decent espresso, nothing revolutionary but hot and strong), then walk the few blocks to the port area before it got crazy. The rooms are clean and quiet, which honestly, in Cannes during peak season, is about all you can ask for without dropping serious cash. The AC works, the shower has good pressure, and the beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t counting springs. Is it Instagram-worthy? Not particularly. But will you sleep well and wake up refreshed enough to tackle the beaches or the shopping or whatever brought you to the Côte d’Azur? Absolutely. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the Carlton, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Plus, parking in Cannes is basically a blood sport, but they can actually help you figure out the municipal lots nearby without the astronomical hotel garage fees. If you’re looking for a solid base that won’t blow your budget on accommodation so you can spend your euros on better wine and longer lunches, this place gets the job done with a bit of French flair thrown in.

Early hotels booking in Cannes is essential during major events like the Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned glamorous atmosphere and luxury shopping.

  The best thing about this accommodation was the location. It is easy to find, near train station. The area feels very safe and is in the heart of everything you could want in Cannes. The price is good for Cannes too. The kitchen facilities are good, although we didn’t ever eat in the property.
  
  What could be improved: The absolute worst thing was the lack of air conditioning. It was 30 degrees during our five day stay. A portable air con unit was placed in the lounge area but it didn’t work and to be honest was unsafe as it was covered in parcel sellotape at the back to keep it together! My daughter was sleeping next to it so as it was not working and looked unsafe we left it turned off. We had to make do with a fan in each room. It made sleeping a very difficult experience and when getting ready to go out we were sweating. The beds are creaky which wakes you up. The sofa bed is quite grimy and in need of a good clean. It was also not prepared for our stay. The bedding supplied did not match and seemed sloppily thrown in the cupboard. The shower unit leaks and was full of black mould it was in need of a very good clean! There also simply wasn’t enough towels supplied for our duration and for three of us so we ended up re using towels between us which isn’t ideal.

  Чудесная квартира. С отдельной спальней и душем в спальне) Красивая, уютная кухня. Есть всё необходимое. Тихо, окна во двор. Красивый вид из окна. Рекомендуем для романтического пребывания.
