— The hotel
Immogroom – T3 – Suquet – AC
You know what? Sometimes the best places in Cannes aren’t the flashy palace hotels everyone talks about. This little T3 apartment on Rue du Suquet is honestly one of those hidden gems that locals probably wish tourists wouldn’t discover. I mean, you’re literally in Le Suquet – that’s the old town perched on the hill where Cannes actually began, before all the glamour took over down by the Croisette.
The location is just… well, it’s perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the real Cannes for a few days. You’ll wake up and actually hear church bells from the nearby Notre-Dame de l’Espérance instead of traffic (though fair warning – those bells are enthusiastic on Sunday mornings). The apartment itself feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room clean, which I actually prefer. The AC works great – and trust me, you’ll need it in summer when those narrow medieval streets trap all the heat. What really got me was stepping out onto Rue du Suquet in the early evening when the light hits those old stone buildings just right. You’re a five-minute walk down to all the marina action and beach clubs, but up here it feels completely different – quieter, more authentic, with actual French people going about their daily lives.
Here’s the thing about staying in Le Suquet that guidebooks don’t really tell you: yes, it’s a bit of a climb back up after long days exploring (especially if you’ve been sampling rosé at lunch), but the views over the bay from up here are incredible, and you’re practically next door to the Musée de la Castre if you’re into that sort of thing. The narrow streets can be a maze at first – I definitely got turned around a couple times – but there’s something charming about wandering past tiny galleries and finding those little restaurants tucked into corners that tourists walking the Croisette never see. Parking is… well, it’s Cannes, so it’s complicated, but honestly most of the time you won’t need a car anyway. The host from Immogroom was really responsive when I had questions, which made the whole apartment rental thing way less stressful than I expected. The space has everything you actually need without trying to be fancy about it, and that 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what it promises to be in exactly the right spot.
Visitors often choose Cannes apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent French Riviera destination.
