The street itself is pretty quiet – mostly residential with a few local cafés where you’ll hear more French than English, which I actually loved. There’s this little boulangerie just two blocks down that opens at 6:30 AM, and honestly, their pain au chocolat is better than anything you’ll find near the Palais des Festivals at triple the price. The air conditioning – which they felt compelled to mention right in the name – is actually crucial if you’re visiting during festival season or summer. I mean, Cannes gets properly hot, and a lot of these older buildings turn into ovens without proper cooling.
