Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Petit Prince? The name makes it sound like some cutesy themed place, but honestly, it’s just this really solid little hotel tucked into Rue Marceau that feels more like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s place in Cannes. I mean, it’s a 3-star property but punches way above its weight – that 9.3 rating isn’t just people being generous.
The location is actually perfect if you know Cannes at all. Rue Marceau runs parallel to the main drag, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the Croisette madness, but when you duck back to the hotel at night, it’s surprisingly quiet. No drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM, which – trust me – is not something you can say about a lot of places in the city center. The building itself has that classic French apartment feel, and the lobby smells like old wood and coffee rather than that aggressive hotel air freshener scent. Check-in was refreshingly normal too; the staff actually seemed to remember guests’ names, which doesn’t happen much in Cannes during festival season.
What really makes this place work is all the little details that show someone’s actually paying attention. The rooms aren’t huge – this is France, after all – but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). The bathrooms are updated without being sterile, and honestly, the water pressure is better than some 5-star places I’ve stayed at along the coast. You’ll find proper hangers in the closets, decent lighting for actually reading, and windows that open if you want fresh air instead of AC. Parking can be tricky in this part of town, but there’s a public garage about a block away that the front desk will tell you about – they don’t oversell their services or pretend street parking is easier than it is. The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it’s real food, not the usual continental spread of sad pastries. During the quieter months, you can sometimes snag a table on their little terrace, which feels like a secret when you’re sipping coffee and watching the city wake up. Le Petit Prince gets that being in Cannes doesn’t mean you need crystal chandeliers and marble everything – sometimes you just want a comfortable place to sleep after spending your day exploring the old town or arguing with vendors at the Marché Forville.
