You know what struck me first about Le Suquetan? It’s tucked away on rue des Suisses, which honestly feels like discovering a secret – most tourists are rushing down the main drags toward the Palais or the beaches, but this little street has that authentic Cannes vibe where actual locals grab their morning coffee. The hotel itself is this charming 3-star place that punches way above its weight (seriously, a 9 rating isn’t something you stumble across every day). When I walked in, there was this immediate sense that someone here actually cares – you can tell in the way the lobby smells faintly of lavender instead of generic hotel air freshener, and how the front desk person knew exactly which bakery around the corner opens earliest for croissants.

What really gets me about this place is the location intelligence. I mean, you’re literally a 10-minute walk from La Croisette, but you’re not paying those insane beachfront prices or dealing with the constant buzz of traffic and street performers. The Suquet (the old town) is right there – and trust me, that’s where you want to be for dinner anyway, not in some tourist trap near the festival hall. The rooms are… well, they’re not huge, but they’re thoughtfully done. Everything works, the beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in French hotels, let’s be honest), and the windows open properly, which matters more than you’d think when you want that Mediterranean breeze without cranking the AC all night. I stayed during shoulder season in late September, and honestly, the whole area felt more relaxed – you could actually enjoy walking around without fighting crowds, and the hotel staff had time to chat about their favorite local spots.

Here’s the thing about Le Suquetan that sold me completely: it feels like staying at a place where the owners live in Cannes year-round, not some corporate chain that sees the city as a profit center. The breakfast – which I almost skipped because hotel breakfasts can be tragic – was genuinely good. Fresh bread from somewhere nearby, not the plastic-wrapped stuff, and coffee that didn’t make me immediately hunt for the nearest café. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (though they’ll help you figure it out), but honestly, once you’re settled, you won’t need your car much. Everything’s walkable, and the train station isn’t far if you want to explore Nice or Monaco for a day. The price point makes sense too – you’re getting that boutique hotel attention without the boutique hotel markup. If you’re looking for Cannes but don’t want to feel like you’re staying inside a movie set designed for film festival coverage, this is your spot.

    la posizione è eccezionale, immediatamente adiacente al Suquet, la parte storica di Cannes, e a pochi minuti a piedi dal Palais. Il terrazzino permette di godersi la brezza marina ammirando tutta Cannes. La casa è ben organizzata, c'è tutto quello che serve.

    What could be improved: In prossimità della casa c'è una strada ad alto scorrimento, ma con un paio di tappi alle orecchie alla fine si dorme bene. Per il resto, la casa non ha difetti ed è situata in un bel condominio.
