Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Luxotel Cannes on Avenue du Docteur Picaud – it’s tucked away in this quieter residential area that feels refreshingly removed from the madness of La Croisette, but still totally walkable to everything that matters. The building itself has this understated elegance that grows on you; it’s not trying to scream luxury at you the moment you arrive, which I actually appreciated after dealing with some of the more pompous places along the waterfront.
What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Cannes, you know? Like when I asked about getting to the Marché Forville early (because honestly, that’s where you want to be for the best produce before the tourists descend), the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward a map – he told me exactly which streets to take to avoid the morning delivery trucks and even mentioned that the flower vendor on the north side gives the best deals around 10 AM. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold. The rooms have this calm, contemporary vibe that lets you actually relax after a day of navigating the festival crowds or beach scene. I mean, the beds are seriously comfortable – none of that rock-hard European mattress nonsense – and the bathrooms have good water pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. The soundproofing is solid too; even during the Film Festival chaos, I could barely hear the street noise, though you might catch some early morning activity from the nearby bakery (which, let’s be honest, isn’t the worst way to wake up to the smell of fresh croissants).
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute stroll to the Palais des Festivals, but here’s the thing – you’re also walking distance to some fantastic local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible little wine bar just two blocks over on Rue Georges Clemenceau that the locals actually frequent, and the pathway down to Plage du Martinez is way less crowded than the main beach entrances. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season (aren’t we all just fighting for those street spots?), but the hotel can arrange something nearby if you ask nicely. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with over-the-top amenities, but it delivers exactly what you need in a city where you’re probably spending most of your time exploring anyway. What I loved most was that it felt like staying in Cannes rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense – you’re in a real neighborhood where people actually live, not just this tourist bubble by the water.

What could be improved: The only thing that I don’t liked was the way for the beach it’s not so easy to find.Julia from Switzerland – 21 September 2024 (9/10)
We had a fantastic stay! The hotel offers a great view from the balcony, and its location is very close to the beach, making it super convenient for beach lovers. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and overall had a very enjoyable experience.
The positives include the great view from the hotel, which added a wonderful touch to our stay. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with all the facilities we needed. Breakfast was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the option to make fresh orange juice—a nice touch. The food at the restaurant was also quite good.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and nice, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location of the hotel was very convenient, with easy access to both the city and the seaside. Parking, while a bit narrow for our car, was manageable.
What could be improved: However, there was one significant downside. We were disappointed to find that pets were not allowed in the pool area. While we only wanted our pet to sit by the poolside and watch us (not use the pool), we were informed that pets were not permitted at all. This was especially disheartening as we had chosen this hotel for its pet-friendly policy and the availability of the pool facilities. Considering we paid an additional 20 CHF per day for our pet, it felt like an inconvenience that we couldn’t use all the facilities as intended.
Moreover, the hotel should disclose its pet policy more clearly at the time of booking. Had we been fully aware of the restrictions, we might have reconsidered our choice.
Overall, while the hotel offers excellent amenities, good food, and a pleasant stay, the restriction on pet access to the pool area and the lack of clear pet policy disclosure affected our experience.Stella from Austria – 30 August 2024 (9/10)

All facilities were nice. We didn't get breakfast included but ordered a croissant and coffee each morning which was delicious. Pool and rooms were nice, clean and had everything we needed. Also really loved the beach access was so close and easy to access.
What could be improved: Frustrating that the TV didn't work in the room, signal was bad and kept breaking up which was a shame as the Olympics were on and we wanted to see this but nobody could help us in the hotel.
