— The hotel
Magnifique appartement 2p à Cannes avec vue mer
You know what hit me first when I walked into this apartment on Rue Milton? The light. I mean, seriously – that sea view isn’t just some distant glimpse of blue between buildings. You’re actually looking out over the Mediterranean, and the way the morning sun bounces off the water straight into the living room is pretty spectacular. The place is technically a 2-person setup, but honestly, it feels more spacious than some hotel suites I’ve stayed in around Cannes.
The Carnot neighborhood is one of those areas that locals love but tourists often miss – you’re about a 10-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (yeah, where they do the film festival), but you’re not dealing with all that Croisette chaos right outside your door. There’s this great little boulangerie just around the corner on Rue d’Antibes where you can grab proper croissants, and the market at Forville is close enough that you’ll probably end up there most mornings if you’re anything like me. The apartment itself has that lived-in French charm – not overly fancy, but everything works and it’s clearly been set up by someone who actually understands what travelers need. The kitchen’s small but functional (I made coffee and simple meals without any issues), and the bedroom stays surprisingly cool even during those August heat waves.
What really sold me on this place, though, was how quiet it gets at night. Rue Milton isn’t one of those main drags where delivery trucks rumble by at 6 AM, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and just hear the occasional distant sound of waves. During festival season this whole area transforms – suddenly you’re walking distance from all the madness but you can retreat to this peaceful spot with that killer view. The building’s older (typical for this part of Cannes) so don’t expect ultra-modern everything, but the charm more than makes up for it. Parking can be tricky around here – I’d recommend the public garage near the port if you’re driving – but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to use a car much anyway. The rating speaks for itself, and after spending a week here, I totally get why. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting it.
