Paula By Terry’s Homes 150m Beach – Palais

So I stayed at Paula By Terry’s Homes last spring, and honestly? It’s one of those places that gets everything right without trying too hard. The location on Rue d’Antibes is pretty much perfect – you’re literally in the heart of Cannes but not dealing with the absolute chaos of the Croisette. I mean, you can walk to the beach in about two minutes (they’re not lying about that 150m thing), but you’re also surrounded by all those great little cafés and shops that locals actually use.

The building itself has this quietly elegant vibe – it’s not screaming “look at me” like some of the flashier hotels closer to the Palais des Festivals, but the moment you walk in, you know you’re somewhere special. The staff actually remembers your name, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to grab dinner or need restaurant recommendations beyond the tourist traps. They pointed me toward this incredible little bistro on Rue Meynadier that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed – not huge, but everything has its place, and the beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). You know what really impressed me? The soundproofing. Rue d’Antibes can get pretty lively, especially during festival season, but I slept like a baby every night.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels like you’re staying somewhere that understands Cannes beyond the glitz and glamour. Yes, you can walk to all the fancy spots – the Palais is maybe a seven-minute stroll, and you’ll pass some serious people-watching opportunities along the way. But you’re also perfectly positioned to duck into Forville Market in the morning for fresh produce and flowers, or to grab a real coffee (not hotel coffee) at one of the neighborhood spots. The beach access is legit too – you’re hitting the sand at Plage du Palais, which tends to be less crowded than some of the more central stretches. Parking can be tricky in this area, but they’ll sort you out with recommendations, and honestly, once you’re there, you won’t need a car anyway. I visited in May, which turned out to be perfect timing – warm enough for the beach, but before the summer crowds really descend. The whole experience just felt authentic, if that makes sense, like staying with friends who happen to have impeccable taste and live in one of the most beautiful cities on the Riviera.
