Modern apartment 2 bedrooms quiet terrace in a palm beach area, 30 meters from seaside
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of Cannes apartments over the years, but this place on Rue Reine Astrid actually surprised me. The name’s a bit of a mouthful – honestly, they could’ve just called it “the apartment with the amazing terrace” – but once you’re there, you get it. You’re literally 30 meters from the water, which in Cannes terms means you can hear the waves but you’re not dealing with the Boulevard de la Croisette chaos right outside your door.
The location is what really makes this work. Pointe Croisette is this quieter pocket that most tourists miss because they’re all fighting for spots right on the main drag. You know what though? You’re getting the best of both worlds here. Walk five minutes toward the palm trees and you’re at Plage du Martinez, but turn the other way and you can actually find parking (well, sort of – it’s still Cannes). The terrace faces away from the street noise, so mornings actually feel peaceful instead of like you’re camping next to a highway. I mean, there’s still the occasional delivery truck at 7 AM, but that’s France for you.
What struck me most was how the two bedrooms are actually separate spaces – not just one room with a curtain divider like some places try to pull off. The master bedroom gets morning light without being too bright, and honestly, the second bedroom is perfect for kids or if you’re traveling with friends who have different sleep schedules. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you hit the Forville market (Tuesday through Sunday, by the way – don’t make my mistake of showing up on Monday to locked gates). There’s this little dishwasher tucked under the counter that you might miss at first, but trust me, you’ll appreciate it after a few days of rosé and cheese plates on that terrace. The building itself feels solid – those thick walls that actually keep sound out, unlike some of the newer constructions around town. You’ll sleep well here, even during the festival madness in May when the whole city turns into one giant party. Check-in was straightforward too, none of that “meet me at a café three blocks away” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals.
