But this little apartment at Résidence Plein Ciel actually delivers on every single promise, and then some. The sea view isn’t just marketing speak – you’re literally looking out over the Mediterranean from your window, and on clear mornings (which, let’s face it, is most mornings on the Côte d’Azur) you can see the Îles de Lérins floating in the distance like something out of a postcard you’d never actually send.

The location on Boulevard Vallombrosa is honestly perfect if you know Cannes at all. You’re up in the residential part of town, which means you get that authentic French living vibe without the tourist chaos, but it’s genuinely a pleasant 10-minute walk down to all the action around the Palais des Festivals. I mean, you could probably do it in eight minutes if you’re not stopping to peek into the boutiques along Rue d’Antibes – but you will stop, trust me. What I love about this spot is that you’re close enough to pop back for an afternoon nap (very important during festival season when the parties go until dawn), but far enough up the hill that you don’t hear the street noise or deal with crowds of people taking selfies outside your building. The residence itself is well-maintained – nothing fancy, but the kind of solid French apartment building where the elevator actually works and someone clearly cares about keeping things tidy.

The apartment feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than a hotel room, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re in Cannes for more than just a quick weekend. The bedroom gets great morning light, and there’s actually enough space to unpack properly – something you don’t always get in this price range along the coast. You know what really sold me though? The little details that show someone who actually lives here set this up.
