So I’ve stayed at Parc Eugenie a handful of times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to spot in Cannes when I don’t want to deal with the Croisette madness but still want to feel like I’m actually in the city. The thing about this place is it sits on Rue Commandant Bret in this quietly bustling neighborhood that most tourists completely miss – which is exactly why I love it.

You know what struck me the first time I walked in? It doesn’t try too hard. I mean, it’s clearly a 3-star place, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about it that makes those fancy palace hotels feel a bit… performative, you know? The lobby has this lived-in elegance – not magazine-perfect, but comfortable in a way that makes you want to actually sit in those chairs instead of just admiring them. And the staff – well, they actually remember your name after the second day, which honestly never happens at the bigger places. The check-in is refreshingly quick too, no endless upselling or forced small talk about your travel plans.

What really sells me on this location though is that you’re in the Prado-République area, which locals will tell you is where the real Cannes happens. There’s this fantastic little boulangerie literally two blocks away on République where the croissants are still warm at 7 AM, and you can walk to the Marché Forville in about eight minutes – I’ve timed it because I’m obsessive about morning market runs. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where you hear the city humming around you during the day (street cafés, people actually living their lives), but it quiets down nicely at night. I sleep pretty well here, even with the windows cracked open in summer.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent shower pressure (which matters more than people admit), and enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly. Are they Instagram-worthy? Not particularly. But they’re genuinely comfortable, and the housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive. I appreciate that they don’t go overboard with unnecessary amenities you’ll never use – just the stuff that actually matters when you’re tired from wandering around all day.

Here’s the thing that keeps me coming back though – you can walk to the old port in about twelve minutes, the Palais des Festivals in fifteen, and when you need a beach day, Plage du Midi is closer than the crowded Croisette beaches anyway. Plus there’s actual parking nearby (not always guaranteed, but way better odds than downtown), and you’re not paying tourist-trap prices for every coffee or bottle of water in the neighborhood. During festival season, you feel connected to the energy without being completely overwhelmed by it, which is honestly the sweet spot for experiencing Cannes without losing your mind.

It’s the kind of place that just works, you know? Nothing flashy, but everything you need, run by people who seem to actually care about hospitality rather than just going through the motions.

  The apartment is very well laid out with absolutely everything supplied .It has a spacious balcony that looks onto the pool.The pool is so peaceful …..we had it almost to ourselves.The beds are extremely comfortable ..no expense spared.
