You know what caught me off guard about this little studio on rue Marceau? It’s actually got this amazing terrace that nobody really talks about enough. I mean, when you’re staying right in the heart of Cannes, having your own outdoor space feels like winning the lottery – especially during festival season when every square meter of the city is packed with people.

The location is honestly perfect if you’re here for the Palais des Festivals. Five minutes on foot, and I’m talking a genuine five minutes, not that tourist-brochure math where they pretend walking uphill in heels doesn’t slow you down. You head down rue Marceau toward the port, hang a left, and boom – you’re at the red carpet. The walk takes you right past some of those classic Cannes café terraces where you can grab morning coffee, and honestly, I found myself doing that daily routine without even planning it. There’s this little boulangerie on the corner (I think it’s called Maison Fortin?) where locals actually line up, which is always a good sign. The studio itself is compact but thoughtfully laid out – I mean, it’s a studio, so you’re not getting a sprawling suite, but everything you need is there. The terrace though, that’s where you’ll spend your evenings. It faces east, so mornings get nice light for coffee, and evenings are cool enough to sit out with a glass of wine from the Monoprix down the street. You can hear the gentle hum of the city without being overwhelmed by it, though during the film festival or peak summer, well – it’s Cannes, so there’s going to be some energy in the air regardless.

What I really appreciated was how the whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a typical rental. The check-in was smooth (they actually met me there, which saved the usual key-hunting drama), and parking – look, if you’re driving, there’s a public garage about two blocks away on rue du Commandant André. Not cheap, but honestly, nowhere in central Cannes is cheap for parking. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on what it promises without any fancy nonsense. You’re not getting room service or a concierge, but you’re getting that authentic Cannes residential feel that most hotels can’t offer. Plus, being on a real street where actual people live means you see the city beyond just the tourist bubble. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted easy access to the Palais but also the freedom to cook a simple meal or just spread out a bit after long days of festival craziness or beach time.
