Nothing fancy, but everything works, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’ve stayed in some pretty questionable places along the Riviera, so this matters more than you might think). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – the street isn’t one of those main thoroughfares where delivery trucks rumble past at 6 AM. The staff genuinely seems to know the area too, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about getting to the Marché Forville early in the morning, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward Google Maps – he actually told me which route to take to avoid the morning delivery chaos and mentioned that the flower vendors set up around 7:30 if I wanted to see the market at its prettiest.

Here’s what really sold me on the place, though – it feels like a hotel that actual people run, not some corporate chain going through the motions. During my stay in September (which is honestly the best time to visit Cannes if you ask me – still warm, but without the festival crowds or peak summer madness), I ended up chatting with other guests over coffee, and everyone seemed to have that same slightly surprised satisfaction. Like, we all came expecting basic and decent, but found something that actually felt welcoming. The breakfast isn’t going to change your life, but it’s fresh and they don’t rush you out the door. Plus, you’re close enough to walk to that little bakery on rue Meynadier for proper croissants if you want to venture out. I mean, if you’re looking for luxury spa treatments and rooftop pools, this obviously isn’t your spot – but if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring Cannes without paying Croisette prices, Rouaze 2 actually delivers on what it promises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  What could be improved: es gab nicht mal einen Topf zum Kochen. Trotz Hinweis tat sich nichts! Zudem wurde uns unterstellt, die Duschwand kaputt gemacht zu haben, obwohl diese bei der Ankunft bereits defekt war. Ein Klempner kam zwar, aber unangemeldet und stand dann einfach im Zimmer, ohne Erlaubnis zu fragen. Meine Tochter stand in T-Shirt und Unterhose im Zimmer.
  
  Die Lage ist direkt neben einem Restaurant und einem Lebensmittel Geschäft – daher sehr laut, weil ständig Liefer- und Müllfahrzeuge kamen.
