Sea view La Palme d’Azur apartment steps away from the beach and perfect for holidays & business trips
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to this place on Rue de la Verrerie – it’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street that most tourists miss completely. But you know what? That’s actually perfect, because you get all the charm of old Cannes without the constant foot traffic that makes some areas feel like a theme park.
The apartment itself really does live up to that sea view promise, and I mean actually live up to it – not like those places where you need to crane your neck out the bathroom window to catch a glimpse of blue. From the main room, you’re looking straight out over the Mediterranean, and honestly, watching the morning light hit the water while you’re having coffee is worth the stay alone. The space feels bigger than you’d expect for Cannes (where every square meter costs a fortune), and whoever set it up clearly knows what travelers actually need. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen – not just some tiny corner where you can barely fit a coffee maker – and the Wi-Fi is strong enough that I could actually work from the little desk by the window without wanting to throw my laptop across the room.
Location-wise, you’re maybe a three-minute walk to the beach, but more importantly, you’re right in the sweet spot between the fancy Croisette area and the more authentic neighborhoods where locals actually live. The street itself is pretty quiet – you might hear some evening chatter from the wine bar around the corner, but nothing that’ll keep you up unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper. Parking can be tricky (this is Cannes, after all), but there’s usually something available on the nearby streets if you’re patient, and the train station is close enough that you could easily skip the car altogether. I actually ended up walking everywhere – down to the Palais des Festivals, up into Le Suquet for dinner, even out to the morning market on Forville. The whole city feels manageable from this spot, which is something you definitely can’t say about every place in Cannes. One small thing – the building is old (charming old, not falling-apart old), so don’t expect a massive elevator or super modern fixtures, but that’s part of what gives it character. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there.
