You know what struck me first about Studio Alexandre? It’s one of those places that actually gets the whole Cannes thing right without trying too hard. I mean, you’re on Boulevard Alexandre III, which honestly puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Palais des Festivals in about eight minutes, but you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of La Croisette’s main drag. The building itself has that classic French apartment feel – nothing flashy, just solid and comfortable in a way that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sterile hotel bubble.

The studios themselves are surprisingly well thought out. They’re compact, sure, but whoever designed these actually lived in small spaces before because everything has its place. The kitchenette isn’t just for show – you can actually cook a proper meal, which comes in handy when you realize that eating out for every meal in Cannes will basically bankrupt you. I loved that the windows open wide (something you don’t always get in newer places), and depending on which side you’re on, you might catch glimpses of the Mediterranean between buildings. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always a given even in nice places along the Côte d’Azur.

What really won me over was the neighborhood vibe. You’re close enough to walk to all the fancy stuff when you want to people-watch at the Carlton or grab dinner at one of those see-and-be-seen spots, but Boulevard Alexandre III has this more residential feel where you’ll find locals doing their morning coffee runs and kids heading to school. There’s a little épicerie about two blocks down that stays open late, and the beach access points along this stretch are way less crowded than the private beaches everyone fights over. Parking can be tricky during festival season – well, parking’s tricky everywhere in Cannes during festival season – but the rest of the year it’s manageable. The front desk folks seem to genuinely know the area; they pointed me toward this incredible little wine bar on Rue d’Antibes that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, for a 3-star place, Studio Alexandre punches well above its weight. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails all the stuff that actually matters when you’re exploring Cannes.

  What could be improved: No WiFi connection, I asked the owner to fix it but recommendations was to reload router, or there was general problem with internet or just speed was not enough for connection.
  Also before leaving owner asked to clean bed and put away dirty shits, same was with garbage before leaving, first time ever I see this type of requests
