Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Cannes over the years, and this apartment on avenue Costebelle really surprised me in the best way. You know how most rental descriptions promise the world and deliver, well, questionable WiFi and a view of someone’s laundry? This one actually delivers. The terrace alone is worth the booking – I mean, it’s properly large, not just “large by European standards” where you can barely fit two chairs. You’ve got space to spread out, have breakfast without bumping elbows, and honestly, the pool situation is pretty sweet for a rental property.

The location is what sold me, though I’ll admit La Californie can be a bit tricky if you’re not familiar with Cannes. It’s up in the hills – and I mean properly up there, so you’ll want a car or be prepared for some decent walks. But here’s the thing everyone misses about this area: you’re actually in one of the quieter residential pockets, away from the Croisette madness, but still close enough that you can pop down for dinner or hit the beach without it being a whole expedition. Avenue Costebelle itself is pretty peaceful, lined with those typical Riviera villas, and parking (thank god) isn’t the nightmare it is down in the center. The neighbors tend to be locals or long-term visitors, not party crowds, so you can actually sleep at night.

What really got me was the attention to detail inside – the three bedrooms are genuinely spacious, not cramped afterthoughts, and there’s enough bathroom space that you won’t be queuing in the morning. The kitchen actually has proper equipment (revolutionary concept, I know), and the whole place feels like someone’s carefully maintained home rather than a sterile rental unit. Sure, it’s got that 4-star rating, but honestly, it punches above its weight. The 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works, it’s clean, comfortable, and you get that terrace and pool access which, let’s face it, is exactly what you want when you’re paying Cannes prices. Just be aware that during festival season, even up here in La Californie, everything gets busier and more expensive. But in the shoulder seasons? This place is honestly a bit of a steal for what you’re getting.

  Spacious, clean, lots of light. Great terrace with a wonderful view and lots of birds and nice water sound from the pool. I would stay here again. Parking included. Small kitchen, but very usable. Washer, half bath plus 2 full bathrooms. Comfortable beds.
  
  What could be improved: Front gate electrical was broken so the code to get in didn't work. We only had one key for the gate so we had to go out and let each other in and out. I'm sure it will be fixed. I couldn't find measuring spoons or measuring cups. Insufficient garbage bags for a 9 day stay for both the kitchen and the bathrooms. I brought my own pillow for which I am thankful because the pillows provided weren't good as sleeping pillows.

  Sehr ruhige Lage. Große Terrasse. Sehr gut ausgestattet.
  
  What could be improved: Wir hatten das Appartement vor 2 Jahren bei Booking mit 10 bewertet. Im 2. Schlafzimmer steht statt eines Doppelbettes für Erwachsene nun ein doppelstöckiges Bett für 3 kleine Personen ( unten 2, oben 1). Bett nur ca. 1,80 lang. Für große Erwachsene ungeeignet. Hätten wir nicht kleine Erwachsene dabei gehabt hätten wir das Appartement nicht nutzen können. Das 1. Schlafzimmer ist auch umgebaut, aber besser als vorher.
  Abwertung, weil veraltete Fotos dabei sind. Eigentlich nur noch für 4 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder geeignet, Beschreibung daher falsch. Sehr schade. Deswegen könnte man es auch als sehr schlecht bewerten, auch weil es deutlich teurer geworden ist.

  Groot appartement,goed uitgerust, goed uitgeruste keuken. Groot terras op het zuiden. Lekkere banken. Rustig.
  
  What could be improved: Gehorigheid van het appartement. Elke stap van de buren hoor je. Kussens te dik. Ligging: het ligt wel een eindje van het centrum, en terug moet je aardig klimmen. Garagebox super klein. Weinig parkeerplaatsen op het terrein zelf.
