Superbe 120m2 au Suquet – Property With Style
You know what struck me first about this place? Walking up Rue Forville, you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes Cannes actually livable – not just the glitzy stuff tourists see. I mean, you’ve got the Forville Market right there (and I’m talking about the real morning market where locals buy their produce, not some tourist trap), plus you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the old town charm of Le Suquet without being stuck up on the hill where you need a sherpa to get groceries.
The apartment itself is honestly impressive – 120 square meters gives you room to actually spread out, which is rare in Cannes city center where most places feel like fancy shoe boxes. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep it stylish without going overboard on the “look how French we are” decoration that can feel forced. The space flows well, and you get that sense that someone actually thought about how people live, not just how a place photographs. The kitchen is properly equipped too – I actually cooked a few meals with ingredients from the market downstairs, and everything I needed was there. Honestly, after staying in hotels where you can’t even make decent coffee, having a real kitchen felt luxurious.
Location-wise, this is where it gets really good. You’re close enough to the Croisette that you can walk there without breaking a sweat (maybe seven minutes if you’re strolling), but you’re not dealing with the constant chaos and inflated prices of being right on the waterfront. The Suquet area has this authentic Provençal vibe – narrow cobblestone streets, that warm stone that glows in the evening light, and locals who actually live here year-round. Plus, and this matters more than you’d think, it’s relatively quiet at night. You get the energy of the city center during the day but can actually sleep without earplugs. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – just so you know – but that’s true anywhere in old Cannes that’s worth staying in. The property’s 8.9 rating makes total sense to me; it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when you can enjoy the market and walk around Le Suquet without fighting crowds.
