— The hotel
Un Studio de Charme Vue Mer & Piscine d’Exception
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places along the French Riviera, but this little studio on Avenue Amiral Wester Wemyss genuinely surprised me. You know what caught me off guard? The view isn’t just some marketing fluff – you actually wake up to proper Mediterranean blues stretching out toward the Lérins Islands. The address might sound fancy, but honestly, it’s tucked away from the main Croisette madness, which I mean… that’s exactly what you want. You’re still close enough to walk to the Palais des Festivals (maybe 15 minutes if you’re not rushing), but you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM during festival season.
The studio itself feels like someone’s stylish pied-à-terre rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room. There’s this whole curated vibe going on – not trying too hard, but clearly someone put thought into every detail. The pool situation is actually exceptional, and I don’t throw that word around lightly. It’s one of those infinity-edge setups that makes you feel like you’re floating above the coastline. I spent way too many mornings out there with coffee, watching the early joggers on the coastal path below. The whole setup feels intimate, maybe 20 units max, so you’re not fighting crowds for a decent spot. Pool gets the best light around 10 AM if you’re planning your Instagram shots (we all are, let’s be honest).
What really sells this place is the neighborhood feel. You’ve got the Marché Forville just down the hill – that’s where locals actually shop, not the tourist traps near the port. There’s this little boulangerie on Rue Meynadier that does incredible pain aux raisins, and the woman behind the counter started recognizing me after day three, which honestly made my week. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving – the streets around here are typical old Cannes narrow, but there’s usually something within a block or two. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be the Martinez or the Carlton, but for what it is – a beautifully designed base with killer views and that pool – it absolutely delivers. The three-star rating feels almost irrelevant because the experience punches way above its weight class. If you want to feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting, this is your spot.
