— The hotel
Apartment Antinea-1 by Interhome
So I’ll be honest – when I first booked Apartment Antinea-1, I was mainly focused on the Pointe Croisette location and didn’t expect much from a 3-star place managed by Interhome. But you know what? Sometimes the best travel surprises come from keeping your expectations reasonable.
The apartment sits right on Pointe Croisette, which means you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the famous Boulevard de la Croisette without paying those insane beachfront hotel prices. I mean, you can actually hear the Mediterranean if you open the windows – and honestly, that’s something you don’t get everywhere in Cannes unless you’re dropping serious cash. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of the French Riviera, sort of that clean, modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy but gets the job done. What really won me over was how quiet it stays despite being so close to everything. You’d think with all the Croisette action nearby there’d be constant noise, but the way it’s positioned, you get this nice buffer from the main tourist chaos.
The space itself is what I’d call “smart small” – they’ve actually thought about how people travel here. There’s enough room to spread out after a long day of wandering around the old town (Le Suquet is maybe a 15-minute walk if you’re taking your time), and the kitchen setup is legit enough that you can grab stuff from the Marché Forville and actually cook instead of eating out every single meal. Which, let’s face it, gets expensive fast in Cannes. The whole Interhome management thing works pretty smoothly too – I was worried about the check-in process being complicated, but they’ve got it down to a system. The 7.6 rating honestly feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but everything works, it’s clean, and the location does most of the heavy lifting. During festival season this place would be gold, but even in the shoulder months when Cannes gets back to being a regular (gorgeous) coastal town instead of a celebrity circus, you’re positioned perfectly for both beach days and those long evening walks along the port. The only real downside I noticed was parking – like everywhere else around here, it’s a bit of a puzzle, but there are options within a few blocks if you’re driving.
