You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking into what feels like a proper Parisian apartment right in the heart of Cannes. I mean, when you think Cannes, you’re picturing those glitzy beachfront hotels, but this Haussmannian gem on rue du Général Ferrie is something completely different – and honestly, way more interesting.

The location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (you know, where all the red carpet madness happens), but tucked away on this quiet residential street where you can actually hear yourself think. The building itself has that classic cream-colored facade with those tall French windows and wrought-iron balconies that make you want to lean out with a coffee and pretend you’re in a movie. Inside, the apartment keeps that old-world charm – high ceilings, original moldings, the works. The floors have this gorgeous herringbone parquet that creaks just enough to remind you you’re in a real home, not some sterile hotel room.

What I love about staying here is how it puts you right in the rhythm of the neighborhood. There’s this little boulangerie around the corner on rue Hoche where the locals line up every morning – their pain au chocolat is honestly better than anything I’ve had in Paris. And you’re close enough to the old port (Port Vieux) that you can wander down for dinner without dealing with the Croisette crowds. The apartment itself feels surprisingly spacious for a 3-star place – I think it’s because these old Haussmannian buildings were designed when people actually wanted room to breathe. The kitchen is fully equipped, which is clutch if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the Marché Forville and cook something instead of dropping €50 on mediocre tourist food every night. Fair warning though – parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, especially during festival season, but there’s usually street parking if you’re patient. The whole setup just works, you know? It’s got that perfect balance where you feel like you’re experiencing real Cannes life, but you’re still close enough to all the touristy stuff when you want it. Plus, with a 10 rating, clearly other people have figured out what makes this place special too.
