Cannes Panorama – Piscine, vue mer, parking, clim
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Cannes Panorama on Avenue Saissy – the name made it sound like every other generic vacation rental. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide behind simple names. This spot in La Californie (which, despite the name, is actually one of Cannes’ most elegant residential neighborhoods) completely won me over.
The first thing that hits you is the view – and I mean really hits you. The Mediterranean stretches out like this endless blue canvas, and from the pool area, you can actually see the Îles de Lérins floating in the distance. The pool itself isn’t huge, but it’s perfectly positioned to catch the morning sun, and honestly, after a few days of walking around Cannes in July heat, that’s all you need. What I really appreciated was the parking situation – finding a spot in Cannes during festival season is basically impossible, so having your own dedicated space feels like winning the lottery. The air conditioning works properly too, which… well, if you’ve stayed in some European places claiming to have AC, you’ll understand why I’m mentioning this specifically.
The location is what really makes this place special though. You’re technically in La Californie, which means you’re away from the chaos of the Croisette but still close enough to walk down to the old port in about fifteen minutes. I actually prefer this area – it feels more like where actual French people live, with proper bakeries and that little morning market on Rue d’Antibes. The beach at Plage du Midi is a quick stroll downhill, and unlike some of the private beaches that cost a fortune, you can actually enjoy the water without breaking the bank. Plus, there’s this great little restaurant called La Mère Besson tucked away nearby that most tourists never find – their bouillabaisse is incredible, I mean really incredible. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that you don’t get in sterile hotels. Everything works, the beds are actually comfortable (not those rock-hard European mattresses), and the kitchen has proper coffee-making equipment. Sometimes it’s the small things, you know?
